Your Dentist Knows Best

Don’t rush when you brush!

Most people spend an average of 45 seconds brushing their teeth. Remember to take a full two minutes to brush twice a day.

Visit your dentist once in 6 months

As many will say: it’s better to be proactive than reactive. In other words, those who go to the dentist regularly are more likely to catch onto potential problems sooner and use preventative measures than those who only go to the dentist when they’re in pain or notice a problem.

Don’t Forget to Floss!

By flossing just once a day, you can decrease your risk of gum disease and increase your chances of maintaining good oral health throughout your lifetime.

Frequently Asked Questions

Sometimes, making the time for a phone call or visiting a Dothan Dentists office in-person to ask important questions just isn’t possible. For added convenience, we’ve compiled some of the most frequently asked dentistry questions we receive and their answers below!

How Many Times Should I Go to the Dentist Every Year?

To successfully prevent common dental problems and enjoy long-term oral health, we encourage our patients of all ages to schedule checkups and cleanings every six months on average, or twice each calendar year.

I’m Nervous In the Dentist’s Office. Can You Help?

At Professional Lane Dental of Dothan, comfort is always a top priority. That’s why we offer nitrous oxide, which is a mild form of sedation that can help adults and children alike feel much calmer in the treatment chair. Our operatories are also outfitted with televisions for a fun distraction throughout the appointment process.

I’m Having a Dental Emergency! What Should I Do?

Always start by contacting our Dothan dental office! We do everything in our power to accommodate emergency patients for same-day appointments, providing pain-relieving treatment that helps you return to your regular routine in record time.

Do You Take Dental Insurance?

Our Dothan Denists dental office is in-network with many PPO dental insurances. If you’re in need of further financial assistance, low-interest financing through Care Credit can be arranged as well.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I BRUSH AND FLOSS?

Brushing and flossing help control the plaque and bacteria that cause dental disease.

Plaque is a film of food debris, bacteria, and saliva that sticks to the teeth and gums.  The bacteria in plaque convert certain food particles into acids that cause tooth decay.  Also, if plaque is not removed, it turns into calculus (tartar).  If plaque and calculus are not removed, they begin to destroy the gums and bone, causing periodontal (gum) disease.

Plaque formation and growth is continuous and can only be controlled by regular brushing, flossing, and the use of other dental aids.
